Regular Season Round 16: Mandurah M. - Lakeside L. 101-103

Very expected game when 14th ranked Magic (2-16) was edged by ninth ranked Lightning (8-10) in Mandurah 103-101 on Saturday. Lightning made 22-of-28 free shots (78.6 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 Magic turnovers. It was a very good performance for swingman Corey Shervill (197) who helped to win the game recording 29 points and 5 rebounds (made all of his nine free throws !!!). American forward James Padgett (203-91, college: Maryland) contributed with 17 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. American guard Will McNeill (185-90, college: Washburn) replied with 42 points (!!!), 9 rebounds and 5 assists and his fellow American import forward Taylor Mullenax (200-86, college: St.Edward's) added 20 points and 4 assists in the effort for Magic. Magic's coach tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Lightning maintains ninth position in League with 8-10 record. Loser Magic keeps the fourteenth place with 16 games lost. Lightning will face Giants (#12) in Kalgoorlie in the next round. Magic will play at home against Redbacks and hope to win that game.
