Regular Season Round 16: Joondalup Wolves - East Perth E. 90-88
Date: June 17, 2017
Very predictable result when third ranked Wanneroo (13-5) edged 11th ranked Eagles (7-12) in Joondalup 90-88 on Saturday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Wanneroo looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for the former international guard Reece Maxwell (186-90) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points, 7 rebounds and 12 assists. Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 18 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Wanneroo's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Mason Bragg (182-93) replied with 19 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Drew Williamson (196-83, college: Metro St.) added 15 points and 5 assists in the effort for Eagles. Five Wanneroo and four Eagles players scored in double figures. Wanneroo maintains third position in League with 13-5 record having just fourteen point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Eagles keep the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Wanneroo will face league's leader Buccaneers in Wonthella in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Eagles will play on the road against Cougars (#6) in Hamilton Hill and hope to win that game.
