There was a small surprise when fifth ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (8-6) defeated much higher ranked Spiders (9-6) in Narrabeen 81-73 on Saturday. It was a very good performance for naturalized Polish swingman Stefan Blaszczynski (196-84, college: Nicholls St.) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Luke Cooper (183-84, college: Alaska-Anch.) contributed with 8 points, 8 rebounds and 11 assists for the winners. Four Manly Warringah Sea Eagles players scored in double figures. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Joshua Chapman replied with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds and Daniel Moser added 18 points and 4 assists in the effort for Spiders. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Spiders dropped to the third position with six games lost. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles will face league's second-placed Bankstown Bruins in Condell Park in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Spiders will play on the road against the league's leader Sydney City Comets in Alexandria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
