Regular Season Round 14: Sabios - Aguilas 99-67

The game between fourth ranked Sabios (7-7) and 7th ranked Patriotas (4-10) in Manizales on Sunday ended with biggest points difference. Sabios outscored guests from Boyaca 99-67. Sabios dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Patriotas' 28. Sabios forced 21 Patriotas turnovers and had a 38-27 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Canadian guard Ashton Smith (187-89, college: Indiana, PA) orchestrated the victory by scoring 31 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. Barbados forward Kregg Jones (203-91, college: CSU Bakersfield) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds for the winners. American swingman Robert Crawford (201-90, college: Cent.Arkansas) replied with 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 blocks and naturalized American guard Julio Velandia (188-90, college: Missouri Baptist) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Patriotas. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Sabios moved-up to third place. Loser Patriotas keep the seventh position with ten games lost. Sabios will face Caciques (#4) in Valleduparnga in the next round. Patriotas will play on the road against Condores in Cundinamarca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
