Regular Season Round 16: Eltham W. - Ringwood H. 97-90

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of top-ranked Ringwood Hawks (12-3) on the court of fourth ranked Eltham Wildcats on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Eltham Wildcats 97-90. Eltham Wildcats outrebounded Ringwood Hawks 47-31 including a 36-21 advantage in defensive rebounds. 26 personal fouls committed by Ringwood Hawks helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Justin Aver (190-89) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 7 assists. Power forward Chris Cameron (210-82, college: La-Lafayette) contributed with 28 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American forward Mike McCahey (196, college: St.Anselm) replied with 22 points and 6 rebounds and his fellow American import guard Jacob Gibson (198-93, college: Harding) added 17 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Ringwood Hawks. Five Eltham Wildcats and four Ringwood Hawks players scored in double figures. Eltham Wildcats maintains fourth position in League with 10-4 record. Ringwood Hawks at the other side still keep top place with three games lost. Eltham Wildcats are looking forward to face Magic (#8) in Hawthorn in the next round. Ringwood Hawks will play at home against the league's second-placed Knox Raiders (#2) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
