Regular Season Round 5: Tabare - Capitol 74-63

An interesting game took place in Tabare where higher ranked Capitol (2-3) was upset on the court of tenth ranked Tabare (2-2) 74-63 on Monday. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Capitol. Forward Emiliano Serres (205-97) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and American forward Charles McCann (193, college: LIU Post) chipped in 14 points and 7 rebounds. Tabare's coach Carlos Barrios used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American center Earl Watson (201-90, college: Rhode Island) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks and guard Juan Wenzel (190-89) scored 11 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Tabare moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Cordon. Loser Capitol dropped to the seventh position with three games lost. Tabare will face league's second-placed Miramar in Montevideo in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Capitol will play at home against Sayago (#3) and hope to win that game.
