Rather expected game when 7th ranked Verdirrojo (2-3) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Sayago (3-1) 86-82 on Monday. Sayago looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. American center Paul Harrison (203-89, college: N.Greenville) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 28 points, 14 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners and forward Rodrigo Brause (194-95) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. Five Sayago players scored in double figures. Federico Cholaquides responded with 19 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists and American guard Gerel Simmons (188-93, college: Lincoln Memorial) scored 21 points and 5 rebounds. Sayago have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Loser Verdirrojo keeps the seventh position with three games lost. Sayago will face Capitol (#9) in Montevideo in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Verdirrojo's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Montevideo Marne.
