Regular Season Round 14: Academia - Fast Break 69-77

Date: June 20, 2017
An interesting game for Fast Break (11-1) which played road game in Montana against second-ranked Academia (9-5). First ranked Fast Break managed to get a 8-point victory 77-69. Fast Break looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Michael Sneed (196-82, college: Texas Southern) notched 19 points and 5 rebounds to lead the effort and the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) supported him with 8 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Sneed is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top summer league for players who want to play basketball overseas. Even a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds by the former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) did not help to save the game for Academia. Dominican Oscar Balbuena (195-94, agency: Basket Management Solutions) added 16 points and 6 rebounds for the hosts. Fast Break have an impressive ten-game winning streak. Newly promoted Fast Break maintains first position with 11-1 record. Defending champion Academia keeps the second place with five games lost. Fast Break will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Academia will play again against the league's leader Fast Break in Bogota and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
