Regular Season Round 8: Puente Alto - Stadio Italiano 56-58

The most exciting game of round 8 in the Libcentro Pro took place in Puente Alto. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of second-ranked Puente Alto (6-2) to seventh ranked Stadio Italiano (2-5) 58-56 on Tuesday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the home team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Puente Alto. The guests trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 22-8 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Stadio Italiano forced 21 Puente Alto turnovers. The best player for the winners was N Alba who scored 6 points and 19 rebounds. Argentinian Juan-Martin Cardenas (-91) chipped in 11 points and 4 assists. Swingman Diego Valenzuela (185-94) produced 16 points and 6 rebounds and guard Sebastian Silva (187-91) added 8 points and 9 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Puente Alto's coach Claudio Lavin rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Stadio Italiano maintains seventh position with 2-5 record. Puente Alto at the other side keeps the second place with two games lost. Stadio Italiano's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Santiago Sergio Ceppi.
