Regular Season Round 6: Atenas - Colon 98-95

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Ascenso took place in Montevideo. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 11th ranked Colon (2-4) to first ranked Atenas (5-1) 98-95 on Wednesday evening. Host team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. The best player for the winners was Mateo Pose (190-95) who scored 17 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Anthony Danridge (196-86, college: N.Mexico) chipped in 24 points. Five Atenas players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Tirrell Brown (198-93, college: Ouachita Baptist) who recorded a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds and guard Lucas Lepiani (188) added 28 points and 4 assists respectively. Atenas maintains first position with 5-1 record. Colon lost fourth consecutive game. They dropped to the tenth place with four games lost. They share the position with Capitol and Auriblanco. Atenas are looking forward to face Tabare (#5) on the road in the next round. Colon will play against Cordon (#4) and is hoping to prove to their fans that they can break losing series.
