The game between closely ranked teams ended with first ranked Mount Gambier Pioneers' (13-2) home victory over second-ranked Geelong Supercats (10-6) 104-94 on Friday. American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193, college: Sam Houston St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international swingman Nathan Herbert (192-84) scored 25 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists. Geelong Supercats' coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Mount Gambier Pioneers maintains first place in League with 13-2 record. Loser Geelong Supercats dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. Mount Gambier Pioneers will face league's second-placed Ballarat Miners in Wendouree in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Geelong Supercats will play on the road against NW Tasmania Thunder in Ulverstone and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
