No shocking result in a game in Mount Waverley where fourth ranked Falcons (11-5) outleveled 11th ranked Venom (2-13) 75-33 on Saturday. Falcons held Venom to an opponent 16.4 percent shooting from the field compared to 53.4 percent accuracy of the winners. Falcons had a 34-13 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Venom's players. It was a great evening for forward Jackie Vanderzaag (184-88) who led her team to a victory scoring 10 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Lisa Ewin helped adding 12 points and 7 rebounds. Five Falcons players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Meg Dargan with 8 points and Michelle Couling scored 6 points. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Falcons moved-up to third place in League. Loser Venom dropped to the tenth position with 13 games lost. Falcons will have a break next round. Venom will play against Sharks (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
