The game between closely ranked teams ended with fifth ranked Boomers' (10-4) road victory over 6th ranked Wildcats (7-7) 80-58 on Saturday. They outrebounded Wildcats 55-36 including a 43-26 advantage in defensive rebounds. Boomers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was a great evening for forward Lauren Pearce (181-83) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists. American power forward Sarah Boothe (195-90, college: Stanford) helped adding 14 points and 17 rebounds. Boomers' coach felt very confident using entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was the former international swingman Katrina Hibbert (180-77, college: LSU) with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 10 rebounds, 4 assists and 7 steals and forward Ashleigh McBean (190, college: Murray St.) scored 10 points and 9 rebounds. Boomers moved-up to fourth place in League. Loser Wildcats keep the sixth position with seven games lost. Boomers will face league's leader Sunbury in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Wildcats will play against the league's second-placed Knox Raiders (#2) and hope to win that game.
