Everything went according to plan in Mackay where third ranked Meteorettes (9-2) beat 6th ranked Power (5-3) 94-82 on Saturday. Meteorettes made 25-of-31 free shots (80.6 percent) during the game, while Power only scored eight points from the stripe. Meteorettes had a 34-20 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. It was a great evening for power forward Nadeen Payne (188-93) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds. New Zealand guard Micaela Cocks (174-86, college: Oregon) helped adding 20 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was American forward Tabatha Richardson-Smith (183, college: Seton Hall) with 31 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 5 steals and the other American import center Cassie Rochel (193-91, college: Wisconsin) scored 14 points and 6 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field).
