Regular Season Round 17: Waverley F. - Casey C. 87-76

The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Waverley Falcons as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Waverley Falcons defeated 6th ranked Casey C. in Mount Waverley 87-76. American forward Desmond Simmons (198-92, college: St.Mary's, CA) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 10 rebounds for the winners and guard Jason Reardon (189-83) chipped in 22 points, 11 rebounds and 4 assists. Waverley Falcons' coach used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Guard Mitch Chapman (187-85) responded with 20 points and 4 assists and guard Benjamin Louis (192-88, college: JMU) scored 11 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 6 steals. Five Casey C. players scored in double figures. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Newly promoted Casey C. keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Casey C. will play next round against Devils trying to get back on the winning streak. Waverley Falcons will try to continue on its current victory against twelfth ranked Whittlesea City in Mill Park.
