No shocking result in a game in Wendouree where second ranked Ballarat Miners (11-5) outleveled 7th ranked Canberra Gunners (1-14) 104-70 on Saturday. Ballarat Miners dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Canberra Gunners' 34 and had 24 for 34 from the free-throw line, while Canberra Gunners only scored six points from the stripe. They outrebounded Canberra Gunners 52-34 including a 37-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ballarat Miners looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American guard Davon Usher (198-92, college: Delaware) stepped up and scored 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and his fellow American import forward Marvin King-Davis (201-93, college: Delaware) chipped in 22 points and 8 rebounds. Four Ballarat Miners players scored in double figures. Center Ben Allen (211-86, college: St.Mary's, CA) responded with a double-double by scoring 15 points, 14 rebounds and 6 assists and guard Daniel Joyce (194-87) scored 17 points and 5 assists. Canberra Gunners' coach already knew that his team would not have a big chance, so allowed to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ballarat Miners maintains second place in League with 11-5 record having just eight point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Canberra Gunners keep the seventh position with 14 games lost.
