Not a big story in a game in Morphett Vale where 9th ranked Central District Lions (2-10) were rolled over by sixth ranked Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (8-5) 101-71 on Saturday. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers forced 23 Central District Lions turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 54 assists. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Noarlunga City Southern Tigers made 41 blocks. The former international swingman Anthony Drmic (198-92, college: Boise St.) stepped up and scored 21 points, 7 assists and 6 steals for the winners and American forward Mike Nwelue (196-93, college: Drury) chipped in 15 points and 12 assists (perfect from the field making all seven shots !!!). Four Noarlunga City Southern Tigers players scored in double figures. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers' coach felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. American forward Ricardo Martin (203-92, college: Lander) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 assists and Koen Sapwell scored 14 points. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers moved-up to third place in League. Loser Central District Lions keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers will face West Adelaide Bearcats (#5) in Woodville in the next round. Central District Lions will play on the road against the league's leader North Adelaide Rockets (#1) in Greenacres and hope to win that game.
