No shocking result in a game when second ranked Cairns Marlins (8-2) won against at home 10th ranked Rollers (3-7) 99-85 on Saturday. Cairns Marlins forced 20 Rollers turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. Point guard Damon Heuir (191-91, college: S.Utah) stepped up and scored 32 points and 4 assists for the winners and swingman Tevin Jackson (201-94, college: McNeese St.) chipped in 17 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. Cairns Marlins' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American forward Torrey Craig (198-90, college: USC Upstate) responded with 32 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and the other American import swingman Devon Sullivan (201-86, college: S.Connecticut) scored 9 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cairns Marlins maintains second place in League with 8-2 record behind leader Mackay M. Loser Rollers dropped to the eleventh position with seven games lost. Cairns Marlins will face league's leader Mackay Meteors on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Rollers will play against Rockhampton Rockets (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
