Regular Season Round 9: Stadio Italiano - Sergio Ceppi 74-70

The most exciting game was a derby match between two local teams from Santiago: Stadio Italiano (#7) and Sergio Ceppi (#8). Stadio Italiano (3-5) won against visiting Sergio Ceppi (0-9) 74-70. Stadio Italiano looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Piero Simonetti (-93) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 9 rebounds. Argentinian Juan-Martin Cardenas (-91) contributed with 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists for the winners. Four Stadio Italiano players scored in double figures. Stadio Italiano's coach used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Felipe Latorre (-93) answered with 23 points and 6 rebounds and Pedro Catalan (-82) added 12 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Sergio Ceppi. Stadio Italiano moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Aleman. Sergio Ceppi at the other side still closes the standings with nine games lost. Stadio Italiano is looking forward to face higher ranked Arturo Prat (#5) in San Felipe in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Sergio Ceppi will play on the road against Puente Alto and hopes to get finally their first victory.
