The game between closely ranked teams ended with seventh ranked South West Metro Pirates' (5-4) road victory over 8th ranked Logan T. (4-6) 92-91 on Saturday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Logan T. won third quarter 29-26. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Logan T. 39-24 including a 19-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. American forward Tanner McGrew (203-93, college: W.Virg.Wesl., agency: Duran International) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 11 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners and the former international power forward Daniel Kickert (208-83, college: St.Mary's, CA) chipped in 19 points and 10 rebounds. Swingman Michael Cedar (190-86) responded with 18 points and 7 assists and swingman Samuel Johns (193-95) scored 18 points and 4 assists. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. South West Metro Pirates moved-up to sixth place in League. Loser Logan T. keeps the eighth position with six games lost. South West Metro Pirates will face Rockhampton Rockets (#9) at home in the next round. Logan T. will play against Rockhampton Rockets and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
