Regular Season Round 16: Fast Break - Academia 84-55

An exciting game between Top Four teams was played in Bogota. First ranked Fast Break faced their biggest opponent Academia. Host Fast Break (13-1) smashed guests from Montana (9-7) 84-55. It was a great shooting night for Fast Break especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 8 rebounds. Nigerian-American guard Henry Uhegwu (191-82, college: S.Utah) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Fast Break's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The former international point guard Simon Granados (182-93) replied with 16 points and 4 assists and the former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) added 13 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Academia. Fast Break have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Newly promoted Fast Break maintains first position with 13-1 record. Academia lost fourth consecutive game. Defending champion keeps the second place with seven games lost. Fast Break will play against Sabios (#3) in Manizales in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Academia will play at home against Condores and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
