No shocking result in a game in Quibdo-Choco where fifth ranked Cimarrones (7-5) defeated bottom-ranked Piratas (4-12) 76-64. Cimarrones forced 19 Piratas turnovers. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international guard Edgar Moreno (190-81, college: UTEP) who helped to win the game recording 12 points, 7 rebounds and 8 assists. The former international center John Hernandez (207-84) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Cimarrones' coach Plinio Rosero allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Emiro Romero (194-84) replied with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds and American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Piratas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cimarrones maintains fifth position with 7-5 record. Piratas lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Aguilas. Cimarrones will play against Caciques (#6) in Valleduparnga in the next round. Piratas will play on the road against Patriotas in Boyaca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
