There was no surprise in Hamilton Hill where 11th ranked Eagles (7-13) were edged by sixth ranked Cougars (11-8) 102-100 on Sunday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Cougars looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. American forward Jalen Billups (198-92, college: N.Kentucky, agency: Haylett Sports) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners and swingman Gavin Field (202-89, college: W.Georgia) chipped in 26 points and 12 rebounds. Guard Mason Bragg (182-93) responded with 23 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and American center Kevin Davis (206-91, college: Cent.Washington) produced a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cougars moved-up to fifth place in League. Loser Eagles keep the eleventh position with 13 games lost. Cougars will face higher ranked Redbacks (#4) in Northbridge in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Eagles will play at home against the league's leader Buccaneers (#1) and hope to win that game.
