Regular Season Round 1: Hunan - Dongbu 112-85

Another upset was a game between Dongbu (0-1) and Hunan (1-0), which took place in Changsha. Dongbu was outleveled in a road game by Hunan 112-85 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Hunan. Dongbu was better in third quarter 25-24. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hunan forced 24 Dongbu turnovers. Dongbu was plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a very good performance for Dominican guard Gelvis Solano (185-94, college: Merrimack, agency: Basket Management Solutions) who helped to win the game recording 36 points (!!!), 7 rebounds, 7 assists and 9 steals. Center Wei Zhang (203-84) contributed with 11 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Five Hunan players scored in double figures. Forward MengLong Zhao (197-91) answered with 25 points and point guard Tujun Shen (185-92) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for Dongbu. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Hunan will face Anhui at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Dongbu will play against Guangxi (#2) and hope to win that game.
