Everything went according to plan when sixth ranked Casey C. (8-7) beat at home 12th ranked Whittlesea City (1-14) 98-81 on Sunday. Casey C. dominated down low during the game scoring 68 of its points in the paint compared to Whittlesea City's 32. Casey C. forced 22 Whittlesea City turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 13 passes made by Whittlesea City's players. American forward Raheem Lemons (196-93, college: Central State) stepped up and scored 26 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and guard Michael McInnes (189-90) chipped in 26 points and 4 assists. Four Casey C. players scored in double figures. Dominic Bruno responded with 37 points (!!!) and Jonathan Maybank scored 21 points and 5 steals. Newly promoted Casey C. maintains sixth place in League with 8-7 record. Loser Whittlesea City keeps the twelfth position with 14 games lost. Casey C. will face higher ranked Devils (#5) in Werribee in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
