Regular Season Round 16: Sabios - Caciques 75-77

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Liga DirecTV took place in Manizales. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Sabios (8-8) to sixth ranked Caciques (7-7) 77-75 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Sabios. American swingman Malik Story (196-90, college: Nevada, agency: Two Points) fired a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. The other American import point guard Horace Wormely (168-84, college: Vanguard) chipped in 18 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists. Canadian guard Ashton Smith (187-89, college: Indiana, PA) produced 29 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists and Canadian guard Shamar Coombs (185-86, college: Texas A&M-CC) added 17 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists respectively for lost side. Caciques maintains sixth position with 7-7 record. Sabios at the other side keep the third place with eight games lost. They share the position with Condores. Caciques are looking forward to face higher ranked Cimarrones (#5) in Quibdo-Choco in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Sabios will play on the road against the league's leader Fast Break in Bogota and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
