Very predictable result in Gawler where third ranked Forestville Eagles (9-4) smashed 9th ranked Central District Lions (2-10) 101-71 on Sunday. Forestville Eagles forced 22 Central District Lions turnovers. Central District Lions were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Forward John Mawut (198) stepped up and scored 35 points (!!!) for the winners and American guard Jake Rios (188-86, college: Georgia Coll.) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. American forward Ricardo Martin (203-92, college: Lander) responded with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 14 rebounds and forward Monyjath Makoi (202-96) scored 11 points and 9 rebounds. Four Central District Lions players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Forestville Eagles moved-up to second place in League. Loser Central District Lions keep the ninth position with ten games lost. Forestville Eagles will face South Adelaide Panthers (#7) in Park Holme in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Central District Lions will play on the road against the league's leader North Adelaide Rockets in Greenacres and hope to win that game.
