Regular Season Round 17: Eastern M. - N.Adelaide R. 80-108

Very expected game in Mt. Barker where 10th ranked Eastern Mavericks (1-11) were crushed by first ranked North Adelaide Rockets (10-3) 108-80 on Sunday. North Adelaide Rockets dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Eastern Mavericks' 40. North Adelaide Rockets forced 23 Eastern Mavericks turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American guard Aric Miller (190-90, college: Armstr.Atlantic) stepped up and scored 28 points for the winners and his fellow American import forward Alexander Starling (198-89, college: Beth.-Cookman) chipped in 21 points and 4 assists. Guard Lachlan Barker (179-96) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and American center Michael Hundley (206-93, college: Ashland) produced a double-double by scoring 12 points, 11 rebounds and 4 blocks. Five North Adelaide Rockets and four Eastern Mavericks players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. North Adelaide Rockets maintains first place in League with 10-3 record. Loser Eastern Mavericks keep the tenth position with 11 games lost. North Adelaide Rockets will face Central District Lions (#9) in Gawler in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Eastern Mavericks will play on the road against Sturt Sabres in Pasadena and hope to win that game.
