Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Eltham Wildcats (11-4) defeated at home 8th ranked Magic (5-9) 90-74 on Sunday. Eltham Wildcats shot the lights out from three sinking 13 long-distance shots on high 52.0 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Guard Justin Aver (190-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 5 rebounds and 12 assists for the winners and Benjamin Waldren chipped in 17 points and 9 rebounds. Jack Barry (-94) responded with 18 points, 7 assists and 4 steals and Luke Sist scored 16 points and 9 rebounds. Five Eltham Wildcats and four Magic players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Eltham Wildcats maintains fourth place in League with 11-4 record. Loser Magic keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. Eltham Wildcats will face Stingrays (#11) in Geelong in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Magic will play at home against the league's second-placed Knox Raiders and hope to win that game.
