Regular Season Round 1: Henan - Chongqing 111-98

Very important is a road loss of Chongqing (0-1) against Henan (1-0) on Sunday night. Visiting Chongqing was defeated by Henan in Henan 111-98. The game was mostly controlled by Henan. Chongqing managed to win second period 29-25. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) nailed 48 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winning side and American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) accounted for 15 points and 14 rebounds. Guard Song Wei (186-91) came up with a double-double by scoring 28 points and 19 rebounds and American forward Tristan Spurlock (203-91, college: Cent.Florida) added 32 points and 12 rebounds respectively for Chongqing in the defeat. Five Henan and four Chongqing players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Henan will meet at home Shaanxi W. (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Chongqing will play against Luoyang and hope to win that game.
