Regular Season Round 18: Fast Break - Sabios 91-59

The game between Top Four teams took place in Bogota. First ranked host Fast Break (15-1) smashed 4th ranked Sabios (8-10) 91-59. The game was mostly controlled by Fast Break. Sabios managed to win fourth quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Fast Break forced 23 Sabios turnovers. The best player for the winners was naturalized Venezuelan power forward Luis Julio (201-80) who had a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds. The former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) chipped in 15 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Four Fast Break players scored in double figures. Fast Break's coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American guard Ricardo Rivera (190-91, college: Voorhees) who recorded 15 points and 5 rebounds and Barbados forward Kregg Jones (203-91, college: CSU Bakersfield) added 5 points and 13 rebounds respectively. Fast Break have an impressive 15-game winning streak. Newly promoted Fast Break maintains first position with 15-1 record. Sabios lost tenth consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Condores. Fast Break will meet Condores (#6) in the next round where they are favorite. Sabios will play against Cimarrones and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
