Regular Season Round 18: Caciques - Cimarrones 63-90

Date: June 28, 2017
Very important is a home loss of third ranked Caciques (8-8) against sixth ranked Cimarrones (8-6) on Wednesday night. Host Caciques were crushed by Cimarrones in Valleduparnga 90-63. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Caciques. The game without a history. Cimarrones led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. The former international center John Hernandez (207-84) notched a double-double by scoring 23 points, 14 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the effort and American swingman Amir Carraway (198-91, college: Chico St.) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Five Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 10 points and 13 rebounds by the former international forward Freddy Asprilla (208-88, college: Canisius) did not help to save the game for Caciques. American point guard Horace Wormely (168-84, college: Vanguard) added 16 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Cimarrones moved-up to third place. Caciques at the other side dropped to the fourth position with eight games lost. Cimarrones will play against Sabios (#5) in Manizales in the next round. Caciques will play on the road against Piratas in Bogota and hope to get back on the winning track.
