Regular Season Round 2: Chongqing - Luoyang 99-91

Chongqing used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Luoyang 99-91. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-21. But Luoyang won second period 21-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Luoyang 49-35 including 17 on the offensive glass. 27 personal fouls committed by Luoyang helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Ukrainian center Vladyslav Koreniuk (210-94, agency: Octagon Europe) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points and 24 rebounds. Xin Wang contributed with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Chongqing's coach Shu Trist Spurl allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. American point guard Russ Smith (183-91, college: Louisville) replied with 42 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds and South Sudanese-Lebanese center Ater Majok (208-87, college: Connecticut) added 17 points, 14 rebounds and 5 blocks in the effort for Luoyang. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Chongqing's next round opponent will be Hunan in Changsha and it may be quite challenging game. Luoyang will play at home against Shaanxi W. (#4) and hope to win that game.
