Regular Season Round 18: Aguilas - Piratas 102-89

Bottom-ranked Patriotas managed to get a fifth victory, breaking the four-game losing streak. This time they won against seventh-ranked Piratas in Boyaca 102-89. The game was mostly controlled by Patriotas. Piratas was better in fourth quarter 34-28. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Patriotas players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists. It was a good game for American swingman Robert Crawford (201-90, college: Cent.Arkansas) who led his team to a victory with 27 points and 5 rebounds. The other American import forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: Mass.-Lowell) contributed with 28 points for the winners. American guard Brandon Givens (198-87, college: NC-Wesleyan) replied with 30 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and Venezuelan swingman Jesus Medina (188-94) added 17 points, 9 rebounds and 8 assists in the effort for Piratas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Patriotas (5-13) moved-up to seventh place, which they share with defeated Piratas. Patriotas' next round opponent will be league's second-placed Academia in Montana and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Piratas will play at home against Caciques (#4) and hope to win that game.
