Regular Season Round 18: Academia - Condores 81-78

The most exciting game of round 18 in the Liga DirecTV took place in Montana. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Condores (8-10) to second ranked Academia (11-7) 81-78 on Wednesday evening. Academia looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. The former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) scored 16 points, 9 rebounds and 4 blocks to lead the charge for the winners and Puerto Rican guard Gary Diaz (193-92) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Venezuelan forward Eduardo Torres (195-81) with 21 points and American point guard Ryan McCoy (183-87, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Haylett Sports) scored 15 points and 6 assists. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Defending champion maintains second position with 11-7 record having two points less than leader Fast Break. Condores at the other side keep the fifth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Sabios. Academia are looking forward to face Patriotas (#7) in Boyaca in the next round where they are favorite. Condores will play at home against the league's leader Fast Break and are hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
