Regular Season Round 2: Henan - Shaanxi W. 129-130

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Henan (1-1) at the home court on Wednesday night. Hosts were edged by Shaanxi W. (2-0) 130-129. The best player for the winners was American guard Von Wafer (196-85, college: Florida St.) who scored 53 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 4 assists. The other American import forward Charles Gaines (201-81, college: S.Mississippi) chipped in a double-double by scoring 29 points and 21 rebounds. Nigerian-American point guard Josh-Emmanuel Akognon (180-86, college: CS Fullerton) produced 43 points (!!!), 8 assists and 4 steals and American-Nigerian center Chris Otule (211-90, college: Marquette) added 29 points and 19 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Four Henan players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Shaanxi W. will meet Luoyang (#14) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Henan will play against Hebei X. (#12) and hope to win that game.
