Regular Season Round 16: Stirling S. - East Perth E. 80-75

Date: June 30, 2017
There was no surprise in Leederville where 12th ranked Eagles (2-16) were defeated by third ranked Senators (13-5) 80-75 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Senators made 26-of-31 free shots (83.9 percent) during the game, while Eagles only scored ten points from the stripe. Senators forced 19 Eagles turnovers. Eagles were plagued by 27 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Kisha Lee (182-85, college: UNLV) who helped to win the game recording 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and center Amber Land (188) who added 14 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Four Senators players scored in double figures. At the losing side guard Nicole St-Jorre (170-82) responded with 16 points and 8 assists and guard Haylee Desousa (-94) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Eagles' coach tested ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Senators maintains third position in League with 13-5 record having just nine point less than leader Brisbane S. Loser Eagles keep the twelfth place with 16 games lost. Senators will face Redbacks (#7) in Northbridge in the next round. Eagles will play at home against Flames (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
