Regular Season Round 19: Academia - Aguilas 107-102

There was no surprise in Montana where 8th ranked Patriotas (5-15) were defeated by second ranked Academia (13-7) 107-102 on Friday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Academia outrebounded Patriotas 40-22 including a 27-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 32 assists comparing to just 14 passes made by Patriotas' players. It was a great evening for the former international power forward Beyckar Aguaslimpias (204-88) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The former international power forward Divier Perez (201-89) helped adding 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. At the losing side American swingman Robert Crawford (201-90, college: Cent.Arkansas) responded with 26 points and 5 assists and the other American import forward Antonio Bivins (198-92, college: Mass.-Lowell) scored 24 points and 6 rebounds. Five Academia and four Patriotas players scored in double figures. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Academia. Defending champion maintains second place with 13-7 record having two points less than leader Fast Break. Patriotas at the other side stay at the bottom position with 15 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
