We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams in Northbridge where eighth ranked Redbacks (7-10) beat 7th ranked Cougars (7-12) 80-65 on Saturday. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 13-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 80-65. Redbacks forced 20 Cougars turnovers and outrebounded them 44-26 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Emilee Harmon (188, college: Ohio St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and forward Adrienne Johnson (182-89, college: Louisiana Tech) who added 15 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. At the losing side forward Kersten Mitchell (185-90, college: Illinois) responded with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!) and 12 rebounds and guard Brianna Moyes (170, college: Akron) scored 10 points and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Redbacks moved-up to seventh place in League. Loser Cougars dropped to the eighth position with 12 games lost. Redbacks will face higher ranked Senators (#3) in Leederville in the next round and it may be quite challenging game.
