Regular Season Round 16: Norwood F. - Woodville W. 102-83

Date: July 1, 2017
Very expected game in Marden where 8th ranked Warriors (3-11) were crushed by third ranked Flames (11-3) 102-83 on Saturday. Flames had a 34-21 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Warriors' players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Flames made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Jessica Good (186-94) who helped to win the game recording a triple-double by scoring 26 points, 16 rebounds, 11 assists and 4 blocks (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and forward Chelsea Brook (188) who added 19 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. Five Flames players scored in double figures. At the losing side American forward Jennifer Monroe (180, college: Anderson, SC) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 15 rebounds and her fellow American import guard Ashley Claussen (168, college: S.Oregon) scored 19 points, 5 assists and 5 steals. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Flames maintains third position in League with 11-3 record having just three point less than leader Brisbane S. Loser Warriors keep the eighth place with 11 games lost. Flames will face league's leader Mavericks in Mt. Barker in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Warriors will play on the road against Sabres (#6) in Pasadena and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
