There was a minor upset when 4th ranked Sydney Uni S. (8-7) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Ballarat Rush (2-7) 81-77 on Saturday. Ballarat Rush made 25-of-32 free shots (78.1 percent) during the game, while Sydney Uni S. only scored seven points from the stripe. Ballarat Rush looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Ashleigh Spencer (-92) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 29 points and 11 assists and American center Joy Burke (196-90, college: Arizona St.) who added 23 points and 9 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side center Lara McSpadden (193-99) responded with 27 points and 6 rebounds and power forward Shanae Greaves (183-93) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 11 rebounds. Ballarat Rush moved-up to sixth place in League. Newly promoted Sydney Uni S. keeps the fourth position with seven games lost. Ballarat Rush will have a break next round. Sydney Uni S. will play at home against Lady Bandits (#7) and hope to win that game.
