Regular Season Round 19: Sabios - Cimarrones 75-77

The most exciting game of round 19 in the Liga DirecTV took place in Manizales. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 5th ranked Sabios (9-11) to third ranked Cimarrones (9-7) 77-75 in the game for the third place. Strangely Sabios outrebounded Cimarrones 44-28 including 20 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. The former international point guard Rodrigo Caicedo (180-88) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 14 assists for the winners. American swingman Amir Carraway (198-91, college: Chico St.) chipped in 23 points. Four Cimarrones players scored in double figures. Canadian guard Shamar Coombs (185-86, college: Texas A&M-CC) produced 23 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and Luis Blandon (-88) added 24 points and 8 rebounds respectively for lost side. Cimarrones maintains third place with 9-7 record having ten points less than leader Fast Break. Sabios lost eleventh consecutive game. They dropped to the fourth position with 11 games lost. Cimarrones will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Sabios will play again at home against Cimarrones (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
