Very expected game in Greenacres where 9th ranked Central District Lions (2-11) were rolled over by first ranked North Adelaide Rockets (11-3) 117-71 on Saturday. North Adelaide Rockets forced 24 Central District Lions turnovers and outrebounded them 62-33 including a 25-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. North Adelaide Rockets looked well-organized offensively handing out 37 assists comparing to just 15 passes made by Central District Lions' players. Central District Lions were plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was American guard Aric Miller (190-90, college: Armstr.Atlantic) who scored 39 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Brad Jonnek chipped in a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. Four North Adelaide Rockets players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ricardo Martin (203-92, college: Lander) who recorded 15 points and 7 rebounds and Koen Sapwell added 12 points and 4 assists respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. North Adelaide Rockets maintains first position in League with 11-3 record. Loser Central District Lions keep the ninth place with 11 games lost. North Adelaide Rockets will face South Adelaide Panthers (#7) in Park Holme in the next round where they are favorite. Central District Lions will play at home against West Adelaide Bearcats and hope to win that game.
