Not a big story in a game in Gold Coast where bottom-ranked Rollers (0-11) were defeated by tenth ranked Cyclones (4-8) 87-72 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Cyclones. Rollers was better in third quarter 18-17. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Cyclones dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Rollers' 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American Shanavia Dowdell (188-87, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: LBM Management) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 44 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 7 assists (on 19-of-25 shooting from the field) and Christina Boag who added 16 points, 14 rebounds, 4 assists and 5 steals during the contest. Cyclones' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Ashli Payne (183-95, college: E.Washington, agency: Gamble Sports Management) responded with 24 points and New Zealand guard Jessica Renata (175-96) scored 14 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. Cyclones maintains tenth position in League with 4-8 record. Loser Rollers still closes the standings with 11 games lost. Cyclones will face SC Rip (#11) in the next round. Rollers will play against the league's second-placed Logan Thunder having rather not much hope for a victory.
