Regular Season Round 18: Gold Coast R. - Rockhampton 69-92

There was a small surprise in Gold Coast where ninth ranked Rockhampton Rockets (5-7) outleveled 9th ranked Rollers (3-8) 92-69 on Sunday. The game was mostly controlled by Rockhampton Rockets. Rollers was better in fourth quarter 20-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was American guard Chris Fowler (185-93, college: Cent.Michigan) who scored 37 points (!!!) (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Canadian forward David Wagner (206-92, college: UBC) chipped in a double-double by scoring 15 points and 10 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Devon Sullivan (201-86, college: S.Connecticut) who recorded a double-double by scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds and Jalen Patton-Croker added 15 points respectively. Five Rockhampton Rockets and four Rollers players scored in double figures. Rollers' coach gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Rockhampton Rockets maintains ninth position in League with 5-7 record. Loser Rollers dropped to the twelfth place with eight games lost. Rockhampton Rockets will face higher ranked Sunshine CR (#3) in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Rollers will play against Logan T. (#8) and hope to win that game.
