Regular Season Round 19: Mt Gambier - Nunawading S. 92-81

The most crucial game of the last round was a loss of Spectres (14-5) in Mt Gambier. Visitors were defeated by Mount Gambier Pioneers (15-2) 92-81. The game was mostly controlled by Mount Gambier Pioneers. Spectres was better in third quarter 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Mount Gambier Pioneers players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. It was a great evening for the former international swingman Brad Hill (196-86) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 24 points, 13 rebounds and 7 assists. American forward Daniel Alexander (206-91, college: Grand Canyon, agency: Haylett Sports) helped adding 18 points and 7 rebounds. At the losing side power forward Simon Conn (206-83, college: Gardner-Webb) responded with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American center Dain Swetalla (206-86, college: Augustana, IL) produced a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Mount Gambier Pioneers maintains first place in League with 15-2 record which they share with defeated Spectres. Spectres at the other side still keep top position with five games lost. Mount Gambier Pioneers will play against BA CoE (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Spectres will play against Dandenong Rangers (#3) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
