Everything could happen at the game between two tied teams. Both third ranked Dandenong Rangers and their biggest opponent Chargers had identical 11-6 record. This time Dandenong Rangers used a home court advantage and defeated the opponent from Hobart 74-67 on Friday night. Chargers were trailing by 6 points at halftime but managed to get 7-point lead after three quarters before a 22-8 charge of Dandenong Rangers, which allowed them to win the game. It was a very good performance for American swingman Chauncey Orr (193-93, college: Hawaii Pacific) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 8 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Garrett Jackson (201-91, college: St.Mary's, CA) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Dandenong Rangers' coach used an eleven-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. Forward Tom Garlepp (203-86, college: UCSB) answered with 17 points and 8 rebounds and American swingman Robert Heyer (190, college: Boise St.) added 16 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Chargers. Four Chargers players scored in double figures. Dandenong Rangers maintains third place in League with 12-6 record having just seven point less than leader Mackay M. Loser Chargers keep the second position with seven games lost. Dandenong Rangers will face league's second-placed Ballarat Miners in Wendouree in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Chargers will play on the road against NW Tasmania Thunder in Ulverstone and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
