Regular Season Round 17: Kilsyth LC - Launceston T. 66-78

There was a small surprise in Kilsyth where third ranked Tornadoes (11-6) defeated leader Lady Cobras (14-4) 78-66 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was guard Lauren Nicholson (183-93, college: St.Mary's, CA) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Power forward Tayla Roberts (191-93) chipped in 23 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Chantella Perera (174-86, college: Fresno St.) produced 21 points and 6 assists and American center Angela Beadle (190-93, college: Sam Houston St.) added 19 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the hosts. Tornadoes maintains third place in League with 11-6 record having four points less than leader Knox R. Loser Lady Cobras still keep top position with four games lost. Tornadoes will face Hobart Chargers (#6) at home in the next round. Lady Cobras will play against Frankston Blues (#7) and hope to win that game.
