The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Hawks as it allowed them to take a leadership position in League. Hawks defeated 10th ranked Suns in Floreat 84-67. Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 64 of its points in the paint compared to Suns' 28. Hawks forced 25 Suns turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 26 assists. Power forward Sarah Donovan (188-93) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 14 points and 11 rebounds. Swingman Mia Satie (175-98) contributed with 15 points and 5 assists for the winners. Five Hawks players scored in double figures. American center Devanny King (185, college: Georgetown, KY) answered with 15 points, 5 rebounds and 8 assists and power forward Jennie Rintala (188-90) added 16 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Suns. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. As mentioned above they took over a top position. Suns at the other side keep the tenth place with 14 games lost. Suns will play next round against strong Lightning trying to get back on the winning streak. Hawks will try to continue on its current victory against eleventh ranked Flames at Rockingham.
