Regular Season Round 21: Fast Break - Aguilas 89-45

Liga DirecTV top team - Fast Break (18-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Patriotas (5-16) in Bogota 89-45. Fast Break dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Patriotas' 24. Fast Break forced 25 Patriotas turnovers and outrebounded them 50-24 including a 21-7 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Patriotas' players. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Stalin Ortiz (190-81, college: Valparaiso) who had a double-double by scoring 14 points, 12 rebounds and 6 assists. International point guard Leonardo Salazar (178-93) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals. Five Fast Break players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was Jairo Pardo (-95) who recorded 6 points and 8 rebounds and Carlos Balaguera (-91) added 8 points respectively. Fast Break have an impressive series of eighteen victories in a row. Newly promoted Fast Break maintains first place with 18-1 record. Patriotas lost third consecutive game. They stay at the bottom position with 16 games lost. Fast Break will again meet at home bottom-ranked Patriotas (#8) in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Patriotas will have a break next round.
